Hastings County Council has elected Tony Fitzgerald, Mayor of the Municipality of Hastings Highlands, as Deputy Warden of Hastings County for 2025 and 2026.
The Deputy Warden, established by Hastings County Council in 2021, is required to fulfill their normal duties as a member of Hastings County Council, and is responsible to support the Warden in fulfilling their responsibilities as the Head of Hastings County Council under the Municipal Act.
The Deputy Warden is the Chair of the Finance, Property and Personnel Committee and when asked by the Warden, the Deputy Warden will perform the duties of Head of Council, will represent the Warden, will support advocacy efforts of the Warden, and carry out additional functions in their role.
Hastings County recognizes and thanks Councillor Paul Jenkins for his dedicated service as Deputy Warden in 2023 and 2024.
