Rockhound at the CN Rock Pile!

The CN Rock Pile is a must stop visit on your rockhounding adventure in Hastings County. This collecting site has materials originally brought in for the build of the town's railway station from the Golden-Keene Quarry. Perfect for all experience levels and anyone wanting to explore the potential possibilities of specimens to be found or to sate their curiosity on what's available.

You'll find the CN Rock Pile on the Hastings Heritage Trail, located across the road from the Town of Bancroft Municipal office. Head down the trail from this spot and it's approximately 200 meters down on the left side. 

Be sure to dress and prepare appropriately for the weather. Closed toe shoes, bug spray, sunscreen and hats are all recommended. Bring a bucket, safety glasses, gloves and a hammer if you're looking to collect.
