Join well known Geologist Chris Fouts, on a rockhounding/mineral collecting field trip in the Bancroft area. Your experience starts with a knowledge sharing session on rockhounding, unique characteristics of the area and the opportunity to see commonly found specimens to Hastings County. Then you'll head out in your own vehicle to local collecting sites within a 45 minute drive to begin exploring. To thoroughly enjoy your time, Lakeside Gems recommends dressing for the weather in appropriate attire, closed toe shoes, gloves and to be prepared for the elements (bug spray and sunscreen).
Field Trips are available to a variety of groups: individuals, small or large groups and private trips are available. Open to ages 8 and up and and kids must be accompanied by an adult. All experience levels are welcome.
