Artist Talk Series: Karen Buck-Mackintosh at Art on 62 Fine Art Gallery
Thursday, June 25th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm
An inspiring series of artist talks at ART on 62 Fine Art Gallery. Each session features a guest artist sharing their creative journey, artistic influences, and insights into their process. These relaxed evenings include an informal presentation, Q&A, and light refreshments—offering a unique opportunity to connect with artists and the local art community.
Karen Buck-Mackintosh is a photographer and mixed media artist whose work is rooted in personal reflection, emotional exploration, and a deep connection to her environment. Her art, often cathartic in nature, blends memory and material into expressive visual narratives.
In recent years, she has been exploring cyanotype printing, a sun-exposure technique that produces striking Prussian blue images. Using found natural objects and large negatives, she creates one-of-a-kind contact prints that blur the line between photography and printmaking.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick (1981), and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto (1983). Her work has been widely exhibited, including solo shows at the Women’s Art Association of Canada, Toronto (2020); Kawartha Art Gallery, Lindsay (2019); and The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Oshawa (1995).
A relaxed night of creativity and community connection. Enjoy this opportunity to engage with Karen about her works and creative process.
