The County of Hastings is currently accepting applications for a temporary Full-Time Child Care Caseworker at the County Administration Building in Belleville, Ontario.
                
DUTIES:        
•    Manage all aspects of a Child Care caseload including determination of ongoing eligibility for subsidized child care assistance 
•    Review and complete legislated forms to determine eligibility for financial assistance under the Ontario Child Care Service Management and Funding Guideline for subsidized child care spaces.
•    Review, calculate and approve monthly child care invoices from child care providers.
•    Identify personal, family and social problems of applicants and, where possible, assist the applicant/recipient in planning a process of remedial action.
•    Establish and maintain supporting working relationships with Child Care Providers and Community Agencies.
•    Applications may be required to be completed in sub offices.
•    Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    University Degree or Social Service Worker Diploma.  
•     Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, as well as Ontario Works, is preferred. 
•     Casework experience and knowledge of the Ontario Child Care Management system computer program. 
•     Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Applications. 
•     Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with families, the public and professional organizations. 
•     A valid Driver’s License is required – travel to any other Community & Human Services sub-office.

HOURS OF WORK:    8:30-4:30 (Monday – Friday)

Wage Range:    $48,294.18- $53,062.41 per annum
