Maintenance Clerk

The Facilities and Capital Infrastructure Department has a current vacancy for Full-Time Maintenance Clerk. Reporting to the Facilities Office Supervisor,  for providing effective and responsive customer service to the Housing Services Unit by responding to and documenting all issues related to the day-to-day maintenance of the housing units owned by Hastings County. 

 

Successful candidates are expected to embrace and abide by the Hastings County Community and Human Services operating principles and customer service centered philosophies.

DUTIES:

  • Receive through telephone, email, or hard copy correspondence requests for maintenance services: record information and prepare resulting work orders for repairs and routine maintenance in social housing units.

  • Coordinate maintenance required repairs with internal maintenance staff and external contractors, including dispatching personnel. 

  • Ensure all contractors have met the requirements of Hastings County policies, such as adequate insurance and safety standards.

  • Contact tenants to verify requested maintenance has been performed.

  • Process and prepare vendor invoices for authorization and payment.

  • Enter all work orders, invoices, and other relevant data into the YARDI property management system.

  • Generate various reports related to maintenance activities.

  • Review and process utility bills for payment.

  •  Other duties as may be required from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A post-secondary diploma, degree, or certificate in business, or equivalent.

  • Two years prior experience in the maintenance management field.

  • High degree of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, YARDI Property Management software.

  • General knowledge of building construction and maintenance principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, apply, and explain applicable policies.

  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with the Housing Services Act and Residential Tenancies Act would be an asset.

     

    HOURS OF WORK:      Monday to Friday - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

    WAGE RANGE:             $50,225.95- $55,184.91/annum
