The County of Hastings is currently accepting applications for Casual Early Childhood Educators at various schools in Hastings County.            
DUTIES    
•    Plan and implement daily children’s program to meet Ministry of Education’s requirements.
•    Oversee and supervise children in activities that foster all areas of their development
•    Liaise with school staff and officials, parents and licensing officials.    
•    Work co-operatively with all inspectors.
•    Uphold and ensure all Ministry regulations as outlined in the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 
•    Maintain environment in cooperation with assigned classroom teacher
•    Attend to outside and inside equipment.
•    Grocery shop as required.
•    Coordinate snack.
•    Provide temporary coverage to other County run programs in all locations as required.
•    Other duties as may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS
•    Post Secondary School Early Childhood Education Diploma, Child and Youth Care Diploma or Recreation and Leisure Diploma
•    Must be a member in good standing of the College of Early Childhood Educators OR member in good standing with the College of Teachers
•    Participate and be successful in all other training as required by the College of ECE and the County of Hastings.
•    Participate and be successful in all training made mandatory by the College of ECE, College of Teachers if you are a member in good standing, participate and be successful in all other training as required by the County of Hastings
•    Ability to effectively supervise large groups of children.
•    Must possess up to date First Aid and CPR certification.
•    Current immunizations are required.
•    Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check 
•    Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, co-workers and outside agencies.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills with a primary focus on attributes related to interacting with children to foster an environment conducive to their wellbeing.
•    Must possess a current valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation.

HOURS OF WORK:    Monday to Friday, Various Shifts, 6-9:30, 2-5:30

RATE OF PAY:        $26.54/hour + 4% vacation
