Creating Community Wealth and Well-Being in Teeny Tiny Places

The Municipality of Tweed is proud to host an upcoming Teeny Tiny Summit on June 5, 2024, at the Kiwanis Pavilion in the Village of Tweed. The theme for this years’ Summits is Creating Community Wealth and Well-Being. Come join us for an exciting day spent with passionate, like-minded folks like you, and be inspired and energized!

Our keynote speaker and afternoon workshop leader, Peter Kenyon, is a renowned social capitalist and community enthusiast, from Bank of IDEAS in Australia. Over the last four decades he has worked with more than 2000 communities throughout Australia and overseas seeking to facilitate fresh and creative ways that stimulate community and local economic renewal. He is motivated by the desire to create healthy, caring, inclusive, connected, sustainable and enterprising communities and local economies.

Peter will be focusing on the four pillars of “What Builds Great Communities” including proactive and shared leadership, fostering a positive mindset for community, economic and environmental wellbeing, healthy community building, and strong economic development behaviors.

We will also be hearing from community developers who have exemplified one or more of these pillars in their Teeny Tiny Community development activities.

Lunch will be catered by local caterer Terri Ward of A&T Catering, featuring local ingredients from food producers and farmers from The Municipality of Tweed and Hastings County. This event is an opportunity to learn from active community leaders who have implemented successful projects, rural business resource professionals, and passionate community builders. The summit is open to everyone, whether you are an entrepreneur, a rural community leader or a non-profit volunteer. We welcome you to come, share, and learn.

The cost is $40 and takes place from 9 am to 4 pm at the Kiwanis Pavilion in the Village of Tweed.

This event is your chance to learn from expert volunteers and active community leaders, and network with like-minded individuals who share a passion for Teeny Tiny places. Whether you are an entrepreneur, a community leader, or a rural volunteer, the Teeny Tiny Summit is right for you.

Let's work together and share ideas on how we can make our rural communities even better.
